Cayman Islands

Welcome to the Cayman Islands
Nestled in the calm, turquoise waters of the western Caribbean, lies the peaceful British Overseas Territory known as the Cayman Islands. Consisting of three islands just 480 miles south of Miami, Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman remain a little piece of paradise. Grand Cayman is the largest and most developed, with a population of about 35,000 and is 22 miles long and 8 miles at its widest point.

George Town is the capital of Grand Cayman and the epicentre of the financial services industry for the Cayman Islands. In 1953 Barclays Bank opened a branch on Grand Cayman, in the following decades more international banks were attracted to the island, together with law and accounting firms.  Regulation and supervision of the financial services industry is the responsibility of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA).  To this day there are no income, inheritance, sales, corporation, capital gains or withholding taxes in the Cayman Islands.

Cayman continues to attract service providers such as lawyers, accountants and administrators of the highest calibre, making the jurisdiction attractive to foreign investors. Expatriates must hold a valid work permit in order to work and reside in the Cayman Islands, the administration of work permits is the responsibility of the Cayman Islands Government Department of Immigration.

As well as a thriving financial industry, Grand Cayman also has a wealth of leisure activities to offer, beautiful beaches with powdery white sand on which to sit back and relax, the warm, calm waters offer a breath-taking variety of marine life for divers and snorkelers, whatever your interest Grand Cayman has something to offer.
